Sign in table
Set up my my Aunt Karin. One of many great things she did for us. She designed our invitaions and announcements, and hand adddressed all of them. They all looked beautiful and they recieved so many compliments. I try to imagine everything we would've gone through trying to coordinate ourselved everything Karin pulled together for us. Thank You!

Coming down the aisle together.
Something we though about. The original idea was to walk in separately and meet in the middle. We modified it based on the location. But the idea I think is the same, two people meeting in the middle.

Under the veil
It took an amazingly short time for my hair to be braided. This was something I had envisioned from the start - to have my hair braided long. I contacted the owners of the hair braiding booth at the Dickens Fair, Lynn Combs. She got me in contact with a couple of people who had moved to the LA area who might be interested in braiding hair again. I finally talked to Deanna who braided mine and Melanie's hair the day of the wedding. I was so sad to have to take it down at the end of the day.

Cathie builds the cake
Three delicious layers! Chocolate with chocolate filling, White cake with a fresh strawberry and whipped cream middle, and a marble layer with fudge. I'm glad we were able resurrect Cathie's passion for cake making. She is truly talented. One of the highlights that we continue to receive compliments for. I wasn't able to sample a lot of the food we had, but I made sure that I had a piece of each layer. All were spectacular. Thanks Cathie!

Mom and Meera putting on flowers
This is my Mom having her flowers pinned on by my friend Meera. My Mom had her jacket made by the same woman who made my dress, Darla Hitchcock. I found Darla at her booth Dolls Gone Wrong at the Great Dicken's Christmas Fair. However, She managed to sew her own skirt and petticoat, and petticoats for myself and Tiana(maid of honor). She was up all night attempting to finish a vest for Ethan. A pattern that turned out to be smarter than us all.
Thanks Mom for all your help. Photo by our friend Sue Tanner.

An Uninvited Guest Welcomed
My Uncle Don caught this beautiful bird who watched over us as we said our nuptuals. I'll take it as a sign of luck. I hope someone will be able to add some mythology and lore to the story. Any one been able to identify the species? Photo by my uncle Don Mussell.

Getting our picture taken.
Looking back I think this was one of our wisest decisions (Ethan had to convince me). We saved alot of money by having the wedding photos taken digitally. And I was promised that the quality would not be lacking, and Ethan was right.
It's definitely a new era. We've been so lucky to have recieved copies from almost every guest photographer. Something I think can't be said for a lot of couples. Friends and family members have been able to make a cd of thier pictures and hand us a copy for pennies. The best part has been seeing pictures of people that we might otherwise not have seen.

These will look familiar to some. They were the same set used at my parents weddding. My Mom had them and Ethan put a good amount of elbow grease polishing them up.

Ethan stops to talk to our friend Luci

Ethan goes over the details with our friends and officiants Melanie and Brian Cordan Young. This was a last minute rehersal. But almost everything was last minute. We had to wait until we were in L.A. to finalize most things. I'm glad we had a rehersal, we worked out alot of things that could've made the wedding ceremony pain for all. My Dad (father of the bride) and girlfriend Patty Fitzgibbons. Dressed up and looking great. I'm glad we changed our minds about asking both Dad's to get into the spirit. I know this was a special day for him as well.
Today is his birthday, wishing him all the best.

This is Matt and Merlin decorating the archways. It's things like this that if there weren't any photos I would never know about some of the help we got from our friends and family. It was hard to say how it was all going to turn out, but I think they did an amazing job. Thanks guys!

Photo for today
This was taken by our friend Sue. It's of my friend from junior high, Meera, during our adapted version of a handfasting. I wanted to combine several ideas into one element of the ceremony. The first was the idea that our lives were now bound together. I wanted it to have significance by acknowledging the bond we have with our friends and faimily. Something that is important in our relationship and to each of us. This idea I borrowed from a ceremony of our friends Timothy and Lisa who had a toast and blessing. I enjoyed being able to express my love and admiration to them.
So we have tied been and blessed by our friends and family. The ribbons are still tied together. I have plans to weave them and hang them above our threshold.
Thanks to Meera for her lovely sentiments.
