Shirt Folding - Dragon Style
Some one once asked me where I learned my shirt folding technique. (Yes they did, they really did ask me about shirt folding, no really they did, I swear!) I told them that I learned it on some Japanese video I found on the Internet. If you would like to see it yourself, you can find it here:

Daily Show viewers Smarter Then O'Reilly Viewers
This popped up on boing boing. I love the Daliy Show, apperently Fox News Channel Bill O'Reilly show called the Daily Show's viewers a bunch of "Stoned Slackers". This was in the same month the Jon Stewart visited the O'Reilly show. So what did Comedy Central do? They did their research:
"Viewers of Jon Stewart's show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch "The O'Reilly Factor," according to Nielsen Media Research."
"Comedy Central also touted a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of "The Daily Show" were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don't."

I wonder if O'Reilly will interupped himself. Or just be his own usually rude person. I will be watching ..thanks for letting us know he will be on.. Did you see him on sixty minutes last Sun? or was that dateline.. I forget. anyhoo.. it's nice to belong to an intelligent group of people who watch TV.. haha.

I worked with this animator named Gavin when I was at Wild Brain. Gavin was a great artist and liked to draw characters. He sometimes drew pictures or me. I told Gavin about my history, my education and a lot about me. He had a lot of respect for me and my intelligence. His respect shows through the drawings he made of me.

My Dad and Heineken
My Dad toured the Heineken factory. If you see my dad ask him about the "e" on the bottle.

Yes, the one in Holland and don't ask about it. He thinks that tour is better than Disneyland because they serve you beer in the middle and beer at the end. He's obnoxious about this!!!!!!

Yes, it's a modest story, but one that needs to be told far and wide. You will never look at the label without a smile on your face as you see the 'smiling e':

just about the only tour mom and i didn't take in holland! we passed the brewery on the train many times, tho! since we don't drink, didn't seem interesting to us. but glad you had fun!

Eisner Publishes His Resignation Letter, and Announces His Predecessor
Don't get too excited, Eisner's contract was due to end in Sept. 2006 and this resignation is set for Sept. 2006. So it doesn't change anything. My guess is that he's retiring in order to keep Pixar with Disney. The first film that Pixar was due to release outside of the Disney contract was in 2006, Eisener was one of Pixar's biggest reason for not renewing.
Eisner has announced his preferred predecessor: Robert Iger. Iger has about a 60% chance of replacing Eisner, so who knows if he'll get it.

Frank Thomas Passed Away Today
Frank Thomas, a legendary animator from Disney (one of the "Nine Old Men") has passed away today. Frank joined the Disney studio in 1934 and retired in 1978. He worked on all the classic feature films starting with Snow White. He animated some of the most well known moments of some of Disney's feature films, including Bambi and Thumper on the ice and the spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp.
After working at Disney he worked with one of the other legendary animators from Disney Ollie Johnston to write books. One of his books "Disney Animation: The Illusion Of Life" is arguably considered the Bible of animation.

Stinky Robots
I found this today, and I just couldn't pass up posting it here. It's about self sufficient robots. So far the robot doesn't look like it will be able to do anything more then just supply it's own power source, but it's an interesting idea. (I doubt Sony will come out with their own version any time soon.)
It may eat flies and stink to high heaven, but if this robot works, it will be an important step towards making robots fully autonomous.

and it turns out that courtney already knew about it but hadn't listened to it yet. nothing u2 gets by her! it's similar to the "we will we will rock you" phrase recorded in Bush Sr. voice used by u2 on tour (i think it was the pop mart tour). perhaps put together by the same folks.

SF Housing
A friend of mine just bought a house today. It's a Fixer-upper that cost him well over half a million. When I say fixer-upper I mean there are some things missing that he'll have to fix before he can move in. Things like pluming. It doesn't have any.
I'm trying not to be jealous.
