For Thanksgiving we decided to let Quinn try solids for the first time. Here's her first bite of solid food. It's rice cereal mix. I wanted to give her a chicken leg but Allison didn't think that would be a good idea. I didn't think rice mix was to Atkins friendly.

So last night, Quinn and I watched Tom Cruse try to save the Samurai tradition from falling into the evil hands of barbarous American war fair. Yep, old Risky Business himself trying to save Japanese tradition. It was kinda like Dances With Wolves in Japan but with cooler fighting. I don't think Quinn enjoyed it much, she fell asleep after the first five minuets, and slept through to the end of the movie. The weird part was she'd sleep like a log throughout all the loud fighting and gunfire, but she'd start to stir every time someone was quietly staring at a tree. luckily there were a lot of Samurai to kill so she slept through the whole movie. It was good, she got a good long nap. The doctor tells us that the more she sleeps during the day, the more she sleeps during the night. It's kinda weird how that works but we've seen it work, so we've been trying to make sure she gets plenty of sleep during the day. She seems to enjoy loud constant noise, she goes right to sleep at a restaurant, once we go some place quiet she wakes right up.

Next on our netflix list is Van Helsing.

Quinn started laughing for real the other night. I thought she had been laughing all along, but this was a definite change. A real laugh. It was very cute.

I had Quinn for a little bit, while Alliosn showered and got dressed. I decided to see what kind of websites she would like. Here's what I came up with, now if your over the age of 3 you probably won't like these, but Quinn likes them quite a bit:

Peanut Butter Jelly Time
This is the first song that I sung to her. When I got her home I decided to show her the website to see how she'd react. She likes to watch it. I think it has more to do with the light banana on the dark background

Taters
I can sing this song to her and get a giggle out of her every time. She like to see the website, but not for too long.


Everyone Like the Chocolate
She stares at this one for the longest. Of all the websites in this list, this is the one she takes the longest to get tired of.

Yes its disturbing to you and me, but to Quinn, it's a good time all around.

(maybe not good reading if you don't want a good poop story...)
It was probably tiredness, the reason I forgot to put the wrap on after the diaper. Quinn and I settleddown on the bed for a late brunch, after which she fell asleep for a good two hour nap. I took the opportunity to read my latest issue of Living (of Martha Stewart fame). When she woke up I flipped her to the other side to tank up. This seems to be the one trick get her to eat. Catch her on the sly, when she's too sleepy to protest. That's when I noticed my mistake. She was warm, but wet. I forgot to put the diaper cover on. She finished and I promptly go up to change her diaper.
We got to the changing table and I began to unbutton her jumper when she started making grunting noises. So I quickened my pace. Trying to get her jumper off before we had a huge mess.
I managed to get her jumper out of the way, but what an explosion! It stuck to everything and spilled out the sides. In some strange turn of events I managed to get it all over her jumper and the changing pad (luckily not myself).
As if that weren't enough just as I had cleaned her up good she started making those tell tales noises and a serious expression crossed her face and "Pppppptttttttth!" another explosion in a completely different color.
Before she was threw, I had seen poo of many colors, green, brown and yellow. We got it all over the changing pad, her outfit, and seven diapers.
(sigh)
She had another poopy diaper after that. I guess she was saving it for a big day!

Quinn loves the blanket her grandma made her. She spend her time staring and touching it.


It took me a minute to realize that she'd been playing with her feet. We waited for her do it for a while. She had been so close that it hadn't occurred to me that she was acctually doing it!

We picked up a high chair last weekend. It reclines so younger babies can sit in it. It gives me a chance to make something to eat with having her near the floor.


Ethan's pumpkin. I think it was the scariest thing he could think of.....Quinn when she's really mad.

well it still doesn't seem to end. right now ethan is stuck holding her on the futon in her room. we're going in to see the doctor on Friday to see what all the trouble is. I'm afraid breast feeding may be coming to an end. she just refuses to settle down when......had to run.

this is the next day...things where going much better. i'm not sure what to do about all this fuss. she had a few good feedings today. nothing is consistant enough to put a finger on. i hope this all just a developemental stage that she will learn to grow out of. tonight it was the vacuum that put her to sleep again. i'm a little concerned for her hearing. i just hope that the next day goes better than the last.
